The Moment

Building on their experience in Scotland’s Climate Assembly, the children involved created a call to action to: involve children and young people in decisions being made about the climate emergency

To take this forward, Children’s Parliament and Scottish Youth Parliament with support from Globe International hosted The Moment.

On 29th October 2021, over 2000 children and young people across Scotland met with their local decision-makers (called elected representatives) to discuss their calls to action around what Scotland should do to tackle climate change. These meetings took place in the run up to COP26, the United Nations international climate conference which took place in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Moment was the biggest day of children’s democratic engagement in Scotland!

We created The Map to capture the incredible stories from The Moment but this can also be used by other children and young people who want to highlight their climate calls to action for decision-makers.
